I will post the bird stamps inherited from both fathers in chronological order. Today’s stamp is a couple of red-crowned cranes published on February 13, 1975, one of the nature conservation series stamps. It was on June 14, 2007, in Kushiro, that I first met wild red-crowned cranes. Similar to yesterday's albatross, the red-crowned crane population is steadily recovering thanks to constant efforts. According to a survey by
Red-crowned Crane Conservancy (RCC), the number of wild red-crowned cranes observed in winter in Hokkaido has increased approximately 10 times from 176 in 1975 to 1,850 in 2022.
